What you get
- Address type from the IANA special-purpose registries: public, private, shared, documentation, reserved and so on.
- Network owner and ASN from DB-IP or MaxMind.
- The BGP prefix and origin AS from RIPEstat.
- The registration from RDAP: block, holder, dates and abuse contact.
- Reverse DNS with a forward check, and an approximate location.
Private addresses
Addresses like 10.x, 172.16 to 172.31, 192.168.x, fd00::/8 and fe80::/10 are not on the internet, so there is no owner, route or location to look up. The tool says so and explains the range instead.
Questions
- Who do I report abuse from an address to?
